Herts-based rock band me (against the world) was described by altmusic.net back in 2003 as "a rock band with their priorities sorted out." It was true then, and it's true now – no frills, no gimmicks – it's all about the music.
Their song writing may have evolved and matured since those early days, but Chris, Matt, Sam and Pete still share the same goal as they did on day one: To rock. And they do. Every tune is intended to get you moving like nothing else matters – a design which is often achieved at shows thanks to an attitude and energy which is rarely seen in today's music.
2006 sees the release of matw's first official album – I.D.S.T. – ten high-octane tracks released through Casket Music, and a progression from its self-released predecessors Listen to the Stereo (2004) and the 2005 freebie Us and Us Alone – two albums which recieved good reviews and helped to establish the ever-growing fan base.
Collectively drawing influences from the 'brit-rock' movement of the mid-nineties (The Wildhearts, 3 Colours Red, Therapy?, Kerbdog, etc, etc) the band also utilise their wide range of personal musical tastes to create contemporary songs which, at times, can vary in style but still retain the distinctive matw sound.
